The Corporation for New Milford Economic Development Launches Small Business Survey to Strengthen Local Economy

New Milford, CT – October, 21, 2025 – The Corporation for New Milford Economic Development (Corporation) today announced the launch of a Small Business Survey designed to capture the insights, challenges, and success stories of New Milford’s business and nonprofit community. The initiative is a key step in advancing the Corporation’s mission to support business growth, foster innovation, and strengthen the town’s economic vitality.

The online survey will gather input from small to mid-sized organizations, with a special focus on ensuring diverse representation, including minority-owned businesses. By collecting this feedback, the Corporation will capture a broad range of insights that can help identify shared challenges, highlight proven strategies, and inform future programs to benefit the local economy.

“Our small businesses are the backbone of New Milford,” said Alexander Carpp, Chairman. “By listening closely to their experiences, we can better understand how to support their needs and growth to ensure New Milford remains a thriving place to live, work, and do business.”

This research initiative was enabled by a generous grant from Ives Bank.

Participation in the survey is voluntary and open to all New Milford small businesses and nonprofit organizations. In addition, the Corporation will conduct one-on-one interviews and group conversations to explore challenges and opportunities raised in the survey in greater depth. Once all data has been collected and analyzed, the Corporation will share key findings and recommendations for strengthening the local business environment at a future public event.

Business owners and nonprofit leaders are encouraged to complete the survey online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TXXFJM9. The survey will remain open until Saturday, February 21st, 2026.

Eligible businesses who complete the survey will be eligible to win one of three $100 restaurant gift cards and one of four $50 gift cards for New Milford businesses.
