The Corporation for New Milford Economic Development was proud to present façade improvement grants to two local organizations this month, supporting their efforts to enhance the appearance of their buildings and contribute to the vibrancy of our downtown.
These grants are designed to lower the financial barrier to making exterior improvements, helping businesses and nonprofits present a polished, welcoming appearance to customers, visitors, and the broader community.
The first grant in the amount of $370 was awarded to En-Vogue, a hair salon located at 18 Bank Street. Salon owner Diane Taylor used the funds to upgrade the exterior signage and refresh branding elements—enhancing both visibility and curb appeal.

A second grant in the amount of $1,690 was presented to the New Milford Historical Society, accepted by Anita Regan. The funds will support the organization’s continued efforts to maintain and improve the exterior of this cherished local landmark, which attracts countless visitors each year.

The Corporation for New Milford Economic Development offers direct grants and loans of up to $2,500 to New Milford businesses and commercial property owners for eligible façade improvements. Projects may include the installation of new doors, windows, signage, painting, wall repairs, awnings, and other exterior enhancements. A 50% co-investment from the applicant is required.
